Day 23: Before you Worship

Matthew 5:23-24 (HCSB) ²³ So if you are offering your gift on the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you, ²⁴ leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

 

This is about your responsibility when someone has something against you. We must not approach God (worship) until we have gotten things right with those we have offended.

 

Ask God who you have offended. Go back and ask them to forgive you.

This does not need to be in the context of  “ Please forgive me, but you were wrong too!”

You must genuinely ask for forgiveness without any strings attached. Be humble. Ask in love. If they refuse to forgive, it then becomes their issue, not yours. Continue to pray for them and do not let this refusal cause you to stumble into thinking wrongly about them.
