God Forgives!

1 John 1:9 (HCSB) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

 

Isn’t it great that we can know that God forgives! Look again at the verse… all unrighteousness… God forgives and cleanses. We do not need to be afraid of condemnation when we come to God.

 

Romans 8:1 (HCSB) Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus,

 

Isaiah 1:18 (HCSB) “Come, let us discuss this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson, they will be like wool.

 

God wants to set us free from sin!

 

John 8:36 (HCSB) Therefore if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.

 

It is a matter of small steps. Take it slow, do not be overwhelmed, and before you know it you will be a lot further than you ever dreamed possible on the journey of discipleship!
